Bronze, height 26 inches ( exclusive of 2-part marble base which brings the total height to 52 inches), signed (impressed) "Weinberg '51" An outstanding focal point for either an interior space or outdoor garden. Weinberg was the youngest recipient of the Prix de Rome (1951-53) which enabled him to study in Italy for 2 years. Solid-cast bronze, mounted on rough pink granite. 21 inches (length) and 7 inches (ht.) Signed "Gustel". Gustel Morton's sculptures were modelled on real and imagined animals. Some were as common as the neighbor's dachshund while others inhabited the secret places of the mind. She gave her creatures, molded from wood, clay and metal, an aura of life grounded on her intuitive sense of the way things move. Sheet bronze, 11 inches max. ht. signed "Gunn" on base. Homer Gunn was born in Woonsocket, RI and raised in Uxbridge, Mass. He studied at the Rhode Island School of Design from 1938 to 1941 and after graduating attended the Art Students League for an additional year. He taught from 1942 to 1957, last at Deerfield Academy.
